Amy Hood is an American businesswoman and Microsoft’s first female CFO. She simultaneously carries the title of Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President. As the Chief Financial Officer, Hood manages the Microsoft international finance division and is accountable for acquisitions, investor relations, tax planning, internal audit, and reporting. Hood graduated from Duke University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts/Science. She then went on to study at the prestigious Harvard University, acquiring a Master’s degree in Business Administration. Prior to becoming a great asset to Microsoft, Hood assumed the role of capital marketing and investment banking at Goldman Sachs & Co.

In 2002, Hood started her career at Microsoft as a part of the investor relations group and then progressed to the role of the business division’s chief financial officer. As Microsoft’s Business Division leader, she oversaw branches of Microsoft such as Office 365, Sharepoint, Exchange, Dynamics ERP, and Dynamics CRM. From there, she became Microsoft’s CFO in 2013. Fifty-seven deals were made under Hood’s employment at Microsoft, and within the first five years of her promotion to CFO, Microsoft’s stock went up by close to 300%. Hood is an overall asset to the company as she forges a path for Microsoft to go head to head with Apple in becoming the biggest publicly traded company in terms of stock market value.
